Scholarships Applications
for graduating seniors
The church has a number of funds that provide scholarships for youth. We provide funding to support younger youth to attend summer camp at Silver Lake. Additionally, the church offers multiple scholarships for graduating seniors and those attending post-secondary education.
Available Scholarships
Joseph and Sandra Ferro Scholarship
The Joseph and Sandra Ferro Scholarship Fund was established by the Ferro’s in appreciation and gratitude for UCCT. The scholarship is intended for a student that will attend the CT State University System or the University of Connecticut, majoring in Education (a non-Education major may be selected if no suitable candidate(s) meet the primary criteria).
Susan K. Errickson Scholarship
Established in June, 2021, the Susan K. Errickson Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from high school who demonstrates those characteristics that Sue’s family and friends loved and admired in her. Qualifying recipients must have a desire to study the Humanities, Education, or a related field, with a demonstrated willingness to give back to their community through civic engagement and service; be in the top 50% of their high school graduating class; plan to attend and maintain full-time enrollment in a two or four-year college/university.
Ruth Suess Memorial Nursing Scholarship
The Ruth Suess Memorial Nursing Scholarship was established in February 2007 in her memory. The recipient shall be either 1) a student from Tolland entering or enrolled in a Baccalaureate degree program in nursing, or 2) a member of the United Congregation Church of Tolland entering or enrolled in a higher degree program in nursing.
Micah 6:8 Scholarship
Established in 2022, the Micah 6:8 Scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior who embraces the spirit of the Micah 6:8 text:
He has told you, O mortal, what is good!
and what does the Lord
require of you
but to do justice; and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
